  34. lynzine said: @avayarising Not even joking. Actually shocked. I make (I guess tisanes) every day, one usually white or green tea and caffeinated and the other fruit or flower based (non caffeinated) to drink at night. (Suddenly want to send you dragon fruit and butterfly pea flower. Butterfly pea flower is super fun to show young ones!)
  35. avayarising said: @lynzine Basically unheard of round here. Even on very hot days tea will be consumed hot. As for me I’m unlikely to ever try it; given the aforementioned caffeine sensitivity I’ve never cared to develop a taste for tea in general. (Having said which I have had some very tolerable jasmine tea in Chinese restaurants.)
  36. lynzine said: @avayarising What about iced tea? I live in a hot place so right now (summer) most of my tea comes from me throwing teabags in a bottle and sticking it in the fridge to brew overnight. (I really like this method.)

  38. avayarising said: @lynzine I usually call them ‘hots’. (Any hot drink, including tea.) Mainly because I’m not entirely sure how to pronounce ‘tisane’.

  40. lynzine said: @avayarising I knew in my head that tea required tea leaves, but I didn’t know the word for my fruit based tisanes. (I will continue to call them teas because my friends and family barely listen when I talk about the difference between brewing temperatures and the value of cold brew tea. So if I start calling it tisane… I just don’t see it going well for me.)

I’m obviously beyond a purist then. Tea must be made by infusing the leaves or flowers of Camellia sinensis. If it’s...
