I saw a post on how the half-life of memes is getting increasingly shorter, and how that it was capitalism and consumerism to blame. I thought about it, and decided that the problem wasn’t the rampant consumption of memes, it was the over-creation of high end memes that were competing very efficiently with each other, and that anyone now had the capacity to create great memes without needing to clear through gatekeepers such as ad agencies.
I guess you could say that the problem now is that we’ve achieved better access to the memes of production.
