his career decisions are really calling you out huh?

Like a calibrated Appeal to Me the likes of which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen!!!

Y’know it’s funny. I mean not sound too like, cosmic or anything—in such a small way, but a very enjoyable one, I’ve been in a kind of weird little orbit with actor Andrew Scott since 2009.

Because that fall, while I was taking a semester in Edinburgh, a friend was taking a semester in London, and during that time she attended a play starring Ben Whishaw, a mutual interest of ours. And she stagedoored like a good fearless American and then told him my name was her name, so as to later present me with a little one-sheet playbill Ben Whishaw had autographed to me. And I was like Kristin this is outrageous, thank you, and slipped it into my possessions and there we were.

Now, in 2011, skip ahead two years, I would be living in Boston and talking with one of my roommates, and somehow or other Ben Whishaw came up. And I was like ah hold on! and started telling her how I ended up with this personalized autograph from a play I hadn’t seen, a funny little object that I knew she would enjoy, only when I got back into the living room she looked at me looking at this paper and was like what and I was like wHAT:

Oh the play was called Cock, I realize I missed that part earlier in the story. The greatest thing about all of this is that it does occur on a piece of paper with “COCK” printed in a font you can read across the room.

But anyway yes you will see that Ben Whishaw’s costar in the gay play that evening had been none other than: ANDREW SCOTT, whom I and the rest of the world at large had only been introduced to in the year between 2009 and 2011, when the first season of Sherlock premiered. You recall. And now it transpired that in that time Andrew Scott had managed to slip not only into my heart, but my absurd Ben Whishaw story as well.

Something with some distinct echoes to this incident would actually happen AGAIN a year later, when I sat down to watch the Ben Whishaw 1950s journalism show The Hour, and before I knew it

A gif I have honestly had on my computer since October 2012. Actually god that’s been on two different computers at this point…

So yes moral of the story: Andrew Scott has had a really excellent ten year track record of surprising & delighting me
