One thing I really like about Janelle Monáe, musician and actor, is that theatre kid way she throws her voice around sometimes. I’m thinking like “We’ll put water in your guns / We’ll do it all for fun” in ‘Screwed’ versus the way she delivers “Here we are in the car” and “I wanna fall through the stars” in ‘PYNK’

Like, it’s not that I’ve been a little distracted at work lately and spent several hours last week trawling around reading Janelle Monáe profiles, but, whenever I read about her being in all the school plays as a kid I’m like, hi girl.
