KILLING EVE - S1 Ep 7 & 8

Listen, loved this danger-flirty glamorous killer/plucky investigator murdermance, obviously, of course I love the stylish morbid sharp grim hilarious bloody queer New Cold War spy thriller filled with WEIRDO WOMEN who are always messing things up and being very good at their jobs and eating snacks. BRAVA.

Y’know I’d told a friend back in the early episodes that this was well-plotted, but I think what I actually meant is that it was well-paced. I tend to get distracted by spy plots because I LOVE THEM ALL THE TIME FOREVER, but at the end here I can see that within the (superior) sub-set “spy plot”, this is not exactly a premier example. However, while loose, it strides along at such a nice pace! This show is constantly entertaining, sometimes thrilling, always nice and fun to watch. The humor is essential to this, and wonderful. And that the story is peopled by the kind of characters it is. God they’re all so GREAT.

Oh wow! Oh this show is just getting ever more Russian spy story isn’t it! I’m MORE THAN OKAY WITH IT. I showed up for lady assassins by way of Bryan Fuller, but what I got was lady scalphunters by way of Le Carré!!! Is this…the first great British-Russian espionage drama of the New Cold War?

Whoooooops I definitely thought that box said Colgate! Brands that start with C should call dibs on who gets to put their name against a red backdrop, coulda saved me from this mix up! Also…is “thrush” what Commonwealth countries call yeast infections because in my mind that was just a hoof condition in horses until I looked it up, which I also feel is rife for mix-ups..
