Finding it challenging to find any isolated tracks of the slow horn variations they use as occasional transitional refrains in M*A*S*H, as everyone naturally just wants to give me the main instrumental ‘Suicide Is Painless’ theme (and why wouldn’t they)
But conveniently, there’s one in the background of this clip I already took to capture my last week:
Chapter Two: If I listen to a lot of new musical material in a day, my sleeping brain then take it and tumbles it over and over all night in the rock polisher of whatever section of my mind stores the sounds & melodies, and in the morning, it plays me what it thinks yesterday sounded like. Sometime it takes me a little while to realize why this song is running through my head as I make breakfast, as occasionally it’s a rather wild synthesis.
Other times, it’s the last many mornings and it’s Michael Nyman’s ‘Fish Beach’
If I was a person to be idly dreamshopping the increasingly emotionally intense version of M*A*S*H (just until the show does this itself, if promises are kept) (and: of course I am), this song is key to the project.
