See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I will be working from home Fridays AND Mondays with my new job, and today is my first of those Fridays, first working from home day ever, and it is so good, oh my god it’s so good, I went for a run this morning and took a shower and now I’m sitting at my kitchen table in sweatpants with a bodega-style egg sandwich (goouuda) and a big pot of tea, just leisurely organizing a fancy scientist’s calendar while listening to Édith Piaf.

It’s a whole new flexible independent work life and I am thriving

pers. improvements if u have to capitalism....this is the way to go

Cats and kittens! Hello. As of late, I have been just slammed, scattered, swamped, and any other word beginning with S that means Sloppy and Stressed. So in the dual interests of visibility and intention-setting, a catch-up check-in post:

- To have a not-immediate but soon Huge effect, I’m going to be changing jobs! In two weeks I will be leaving the four-headed Hydra job that has been gobbling up my time and energy with an ever-growing appetite, and moving literally across the street to a company that already employs two of my friends and has offered me a better paid, less hectic, 300% more flexible and independent position. I am buoyed with gratitude and relief. So after I get my bearings there, a calmer more centered wellntruly should be running this blog. I can’t wait to be her. I bet she’s well rested.

- I will also, unlike the last two weekends, not spend the next several hosting family OR visiting family. Which has been lovely! But does mean I have precious little downtime to take care of laundry and making jokes about tv shows w/ my online pals.

- (I have and will continue to always drop those things to see my local friends though because Live While Living, a good modus operandi I recommend)

- Speaking of weekends, I have three of them until the Academy Awards. This year has been like last year in front of a three-panel mirror: three times the Very Good, but three artistically poor and ideologically corrupt Villains. Naturally these have been Godzilla-smashing through the awards—despair @ the industry, humanity. Anyway, as mentioned in my newsletter last month (see below) I will be offering counter programming in the form of Tarra’s Oscars. The TOSCARS. I’ll be wrapping up the remaining half dozen or so I need to see before the 24th, so expect an uptick in Watch Log posts.

- Two 2018s I watched last week are not actually on my movie blog, as my write-ups were January’s bonus content for my marvelous, noble Double Bonus Patreon subscribers. If you want to read my capsule reviews + live-blogs of Eighth Grade and The Death of Stalin, those and the usual Full Recaps Woo are all on Wellnpatronly, for u kind supporters. I do owe the dazzling Spicy Level a thank you in the form of a shortfic, which I’m pretty certain will be a loopy little thing titled after the 11th episode of this last season of The Good Place: ‘Chidi Sees the Time Knife’. In the meantime, my monthly lifestyle newsletter The Niche Corner is up and at ‘em for all patrons—this month features extra recipes and a photograph of young Volker Bruch you don’t want 2 miss.

- Which leaves us with this promise: I will be returning to Berlin. I….yearn. My Breakfast Leipzig candle I only burn when watching it languishes, like my heart. The Second Pass will continue, as very soon as I’m able.

Alright, I’m gonna throw this in the queue and go drive a new-to-me car (!) (so pretty and less anxiety-inducing!) five hours through slightly snowy Washington, but there’s dinner at my chef friends’ place midway through, and a bed at the end of it. See you next week!

If you haven’t tried them yet, I’m quite fond of spider plants and inchplants: they’re pretty and tolerant to too much AND not enough water.

Gosh you are right I SHOULD get a spider plant, Jen and I had one in college and he’s still thriving in her place now! So far my best luck has been with money trees, money trees and I are pals.

a e s t h e t i c ! I love all the greenery so much!

Thank u for your support & encouragement

I love houseplants so much, and despite my best watering care & attention they never seem seem to stay alive :(  help me :(  I have three still hanging on right now, and just resort to floral dept greenery in vases for most of the Look, which is remarkably cheap and lasts for weeks, and seemingly the best I can do! IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER ROOUUND

And just in case this second and equally idiosyncratic personal journal entry somehow takes off like the first (unlikely, as I’m too tired to edit together images so it’s text-only this year), let me just emphasize: things I watched *IN* 2018. Not released in 2018, and not all movies either!
