Taika Waititi has made Oscars history.
At the 92nd Academy Awards, the “Jojo Rabbit” writer-director-actor took the prize for adapted screenplay. This makes Waititi the first person of Māori descent to win an Oscar. He was the first ever indigenous person to be nominated in the category. (x)

JOJO RABBIT - ★★★½
Like the movie equivalent of that Foster the People song ‘Pumped Up Kicks’, where it’s like, so how do we feel that this is a bona fide bop about a school shooter?
Turns out, I feel a lot of things about attractive, accessible art about a horrible violence! I think it has its place! Enter the Jojo Wars. (Plot spoiler-free, amazingly)
