See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna
Best piece of trivia: Max G., who plays Rom, is actually a very GOOD baseball player. Played minor leagues I think. So ALL of his bad playing and bumbling was ACTING. He’s the best player playing the worst!

I love this fact. A few other people told me he just straight up played with his non-dominate arm because it was the only way he looked credibly uncoordinated.

Oh yeah I am definitely here for this too

specifically, why does Garak hate earl grey so much?

wants to personally Explain A Thing Or Two to the earl!!

Actually that one might be better examined through fanfiction — which is incidentally not the first time I’ve had that thought when thinking about a DS9 meta topic

….also to be continued?

rainbowrites asked:

in like... actually DS9 based meta, maybe something about Space Bevs? I realize your ENTIRE NOTE SERIES could be seen as a space bevs meta but like - here is your excuse to scream about space bevs and domesticity, please tell me everything *props chin on hands like I'm Bashir and stares at you like you're about to tell me the latest installment of Tinker Tailor Cardassian Spy*

A) compelling analogy, B) complete sentence that suddenly dropped into my head while I was commuting home from work today:

WHERE IS THE GRANT TO TAKE A WEEK OFF AND WRITE MY DRINK SPACE NINE DISSERTATION

I am actually serious I think that’s the amount of time it would take me to assemble all the material and put it into anything that approaches the strength of what I feel in my heart

….To be continued.

There’s an idea: most overrated and underrated episodes, really get The Discourse going 😉

Evidently my brand?? I mean realistically that was probably what I was doing here.

What I might struggle with though re: Deep Space Nine (1993-1999) is knowing what the collective historic opinion on episodes actually is….

Oh although I have gathered that I liked S1’s ‘Move Along Home’ more than I should, so: underrated.

Bureaucratic corruption and the parallels between the Federation and the Cardassian Union and why doing Your Best is simultaneously Not Enough and Everything. Use at least three texts, one of which should be In the Pale Moonlight.

Okay YES but the one problem is that I… found ‘In the Pale Moonlight’ to be pretty overrated as an episode [winces]

rainbowrites

oh man I actually super agree???

I understand exactly why it was an Important Episode and like… intellectually it was pretty interesting! and there were some really great parts! But I was surprised to find out it was SO beloved. Maybe just because I personally found it not… super… engaging? Which is pretty important for TV. I’ve never rewatched it, and I love rewatching episodes

wellntruly

Yes we are same.

Y’know, I’m currently in the apparently days-long process of reading through all of my notes again so I can answer an old ask about my favorite episodes each season (anon if you see this, my answer is coming soon!), and I’ve found that my usual tie-breaker is something you might call the Rewatchability Factor™.

“Which one I love more” often gets me nowhere besides “BOTH”, and that’s when “which one would I most want to rewatch” comes in. Love and Rewatchability — evidently different metrics!

It’s okay to be wrong. We can all admit that. ANYWAY you can use any texts you like. TNG supplements such as The Wounded are also accepted.

Oh! You know what, that’s it: I think I didn’t connect with ‘In the Pale Moonlight’ as much because it’s more like TNG, which I just don’t love the way I do TOS and DS9. Thank you you’ve helped me figure this out!
