Oh my god wait a hyper-specific DS9 fanfic I wanted Exists and is Over 300,000 Words Long ??! WHAT
Listen I had still never read any Star Trek fic but that’s changing because holy heck this is exactly what I requested!! Thank you!! I’m only one chapter in but I am understanding why it would be so long because this is extraordinarily detailed in a way I never have the nerve to write myself but which I love and is so perfect for Julian Bashir!
Wow this is sure not going to teach me to actually try to rustle up Star Trek fic myself because APPARENTLY I can just put my wishes out there and eventually an anonymous benefactor will steer me straight to them, wild.

Anonymous said: Daniel Handler wrote the Ersatz Elevator episodes! And he’s writing the Slippery Slope episodes next season! I’m so happy when the original creator self-adapts their work and also supervises the scripts they didn’t write
Ahhh thank you peeps sending me these great great creator stats I am LOVING this!!! Do you know who’s names I did not know but now I do? Bo Welch and Barry Sonnenfeld! My new good guys! Daniel Handler is also doing a flat out *exemplary* job adapting his own work, willingly and excitedly juggling things around and dropping what’s not gonna work on on screen and seamlessly weaving in new bits to take their place, all in harmony with a creative team he clearly trusts to bring their own takes to the table. Because listen having the original author in a producing role can definitely…..go another way….
GOOD WORK, TEAM

OH gosh no don’t mind me, it’s always a crapshoot whether I’ve accurately gauged what is *actually* widely known about entertainment, because I’m One Of Those who finds the whole business of TV and movies endlessly fascinating and so am out there scrolling industry headlines saying shit like “ooo Olivia Coleman’s gonna run in Best Actress, which means they’re gonna hope for both Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone in Supporting, and they might get it….” while my friends are like “…cool”

Wow that is interesting, because that show got mad popular during its run! Notably it gained viewers steadily each week, lots of them, which is practically unheard of these days and people in the industry were sure sitting up and taking notice! I literally just googled “Killing Eve gaining viewers” and the entire first page was all different news articles on this, but here’s the general idea.
Piling up more viewers like that always owes a lot to word-of-mouth, which was clearly STRONG. Which is likely because this show is FUN. It’s a classic cat-and-mouse spy thriller with a whimsically brutal flirty assassin being chased by a relatable™ yet brilliant (& obsessed) detective, developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. People were excited because rarely are TV shows of this genre created by a woman with women in the title roles, and then they were excited that it was actually really stylish and gay and good! Killing Eve ended up a huge hit for BBC America, something like their most popular streaming series ever, and was nominated for two Emmys, writing and an acting nod for Sandra Oh.
Basically yeah it’s great you should check it out if you like this kind of thing!

Young teen: hey listen it was Lord of the Rings
Discovering Cinema at age 16: *duh duh duh DUNN, DUNN, da Dun dun*
14: What genres do your favorite movies tend to be?
Impossible to say. Just now I thought both “atmospheric” and “camp”, so.
17: Name a movie you love that you consider an acquired taste.
Another one you say? Well well well what do we got in the vault! [rubs hands] How about…ooh this one’s season is coming up: Shallow Grave

13: Name a movie adaptation you thought was better than or equal to its source material.
Easy: by my lights there are few finer film adaptations, and hardly any from a finer novel, than Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
20: What genre mash-up would you most love to see that either hasn’t been done yet or hasn’t been done enough?
X-Men Heist Movie. Everyone still has their usual powers but the stakes are just Coordinating Our Talents To Try And Steal Something. Magneto is the Benedict and also the Tess.
