Rainforest surrounds a neighborhood of Bertioga, Brazil, roughly 50 miles (80 km) southeast of São Paulo. Bertioga has a population of about 56,000, but its location between resort towns on the Atlantic Ocean causes its population to fluctuate greatly from season to season. Within the municipality is 23,010 acres (9,312 hectares) of the Restinga de Bertioga State Park, a protected area for mangroves, dense rainforest, and restinga — a distinct type of tropical broadleaf forest endemic to eastern Brazil.

Reflections on wet pavements. The city itself is a natural watercolourist! It’s been a long rainy day at the library, and although I feel frustrated with myself and my work right now, it was worth rolling up just for this.

SUMELA MONASTERY Turkey
Sumela is 1600 year old ancient Orthodox monastery located at a 1200 meters height on the steep cliff at Macka region of Trabzon city in Turkey.
The monastery is constructed on rocks reached by a path through the forest. The beautiful frescoes dating from the 18 th century on the walls of the monastery are biblical scenes of Christ and Virgin Mary.
