I was tagged by sweet bloomsbumyst, so here are some FACTS:
1. I can’t whistle in the traditional sense, but I can do that hollow owly hand-whistle thing.
2. I would forever rather be too cold than too hot. You could ask me this in a snowbank and I would still pick too cold.
3. Somehow I was never taught prescriptive grammar in school, but one time I learned what a preposition is because I wanted to make a joke. I also learned the subjunctive mood because it is seeexy.
4. It’s been many years but if you dropped me on a ranch I could saddle and ride a horse no prob.
5. Several things I cooked this past year were directly inspired by Hannibal.
We have so much in commonnnn omg. I can’t whistle either :p Yeah I can’t stand being too hot, it’s like, if you’re cold you can put on more clothes, but when you’re too hot?? You can’t go around naked??
I was never good at grammar. I’m pretty sure the only reason I can write properly is because I read a lot and have a visual memory. Same for English.
And oh my god, horse riding. I never talk about it on here, but I actually took riding lessons for five years. Not in a ranch though, at a club (English riding) :P (there’s not many ranches in France ahah) It’s been a long time, but if I could get a horse right now, I would saddle it straight away and go gallop in the wild. I’ve stopped taking lessons when I was around 13-14, because at the level I was at the only path I had was to start show jumper competitions at a profesionnal level and I didn’t want that. What I loved was being in contact with horses and ride in the woods :3 But I really loved taking those lessons and it actually improved my life and decreased my shyness a lot. One of my instructor was from the Cadre Noir de Saumur. Too bad the club went bad because of a sleazy owner :( Anyway, yeah horses :3
edit: I had to google all of these equitation terms because I actually never talked about that in english, ahah. But I have kept some automatisms in every day life, such as always checking if people mount on the left side of their horse- which they don’t often do in movies and video games D: (except in Skyrim)
The fact that you had to look up the English horse-vocab is making my night, that’s amazing. Yeah I grew up in a very rural area and used to take riding lessons from the rodeo queen who had some stables down the road from me. Mostly trail riding sort of stuff though (in the woods!), as I was pretty crap at barrel racing / didn’t care. I had a little old Paint pony for a while – he was sweet.
Same, picked up grammar entirely from reading, I assume. Which sometimes has its downsides, as I’ll occasionally drop some really…archaic sort of phrasing, and everyone’s like

Aw awww, bloomsby <3you’re super cute! :D
