It’s funny, the chickpea stew is what my sister wanted a recipe for too, and it’s the one of all of these I liked the least! But that’s because, after years of trying it out again and again, I have finally this time accepted that I just don’t care for saffron. Which is good news for my pocketbook I guess!

Note: I did the egg yolk thing and for me at least it did not seem to have any thickening effect even after 15 minutes, and I think it’s totally fine with a thin broth so you could probably skip it if either a) you don’t eat eggs, or b) you don’t wanna bother. Oh also if you’re using canned chickpeas, you can just use the full two cans, no one’s gonna stop you.
