at the screening i went to there was a Q&A and some hapless guy in the audience asked the director why he ended the film there when there was “so much more story left to tell.” so he uh. definitely did not process what happened. (pawlikowski was just like, uh, no, that’s pretty much it! thanks for the q!!)

b) even if it wasn’t uh definitive emphasis on the fin, why do so many people think they want more story when that is rarely actually satisfying. End your thing!!!! Endings are the BEST
