Can I offer you a nice mole in these trying times?
you sound like a starship's central computer that has little grasp on what humans find enjoyable
that’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me

In addition to the free streams announced by the Met and the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Wiener Staatsoper will also be streaming previous opera and ballet performances daily from March 15 until April 2; available free worldwide.
Btw this new little piece on Pushing Daisies is very sweet
After two very busy days at my Home Working Station as everyone scrambled to set up new remote check-ins and contingency meetings, today the projects seem to be tapering off dramatically. So, hello! I am super here now, and probably for a while.
More updates:
Counter to what I expected when I began making quarantine plans over the weekend, I haven’t even started anything on my watching or reading lists yet, as I’ve been talking with friends every night as they reach out to offer social support to each other. It’s very cute! So was a couple of my fellow self-isolating neighbors playing fiddle & guitar for us yesterday afternoon—after each song a little round of applause would start up from a new location as more people stepped out onto their balconies to listen.
Oh and I have at least managed to enjoy the free Met Opera streams too by setting them up on my personal laptop to play next to me as I do things on my work laptop. It’s an elegant vibe.
I’ve now bought big honking gift cards to several of the independent cinemas in the city, all closed for at least three weeks by this point. One of them had to figure out how to adapt the set-up of their existing website for this and so ended up modding it so it’s like “Now Playing: Social Distancing” with “showtimes” for various gift card amounts, but I laughed the most at discovering the homepage of my favorite has a new subhead just reading “closed due to the rona”
Well this blog will not be. Hi folks. It’s online’s time 2 shine.
But there is a way to get a little culture and education while you’re confined to your home. According to Fast Company, Google Arts & Culture teamed up with over 500 museums and galleries around the world to bring anyone and everyone virtual tours and online exhibits of some of the most famous museums around the world..
Now, you get “go to the museum” and never have to leave your couch.
Google Arts & Culture’s collection includes the British Museum in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Guggenheim in New York City, and literally hundreds of more places where you can gain knowledge about art, history, and science. This collection is especially good for students who are looking for ways to stay on top of their studies while schools are closed.

@valemercurii: People of my hometown #Siena sing a popular song from their houses along an empty street to warm their hearts during the Italian #Covid_19 #lockdown.
