Well it’s happening: I’m finally considering starting a Patreon.
This is primarily because I really want to write a monthly subscriber newsletter. Gosh I wanna have a newsletter. It would be called The Niche Corner and I would lovingly craft it of all the scattered links & stories I always shy off posting on Tumblr. It would be at the $1 level and easily my favorite part.
From a more practical standpoint, a maybe-actually-place-some-value-on-your-work standpoint, the Patreon would be nice because writing recaps takes me hooours and hours of time and energy. And sometimes people show up in my inbox all “you should write about this thing!” and I think “sure, pay me” but have thus far not given anyone the opportunity to actually do so.
In this Patreon there would be a bonkers tier where you could make me watch anything you want and I will write about it.
There would also be access to voting (what will I watch next!), and bonus content (maybe spicy!), and, I don’t know, other things people might want?? This post is a weather balloon. I’m trying to sense the weather, around this concept.
